Meet our two awesome interns

Meet our two awesome interns

This summer, Jef and Hans joined our studio for two months, interning as part of their university education. They dove right in, working on Strom Peregrine. Jef focused on narrative and level design while Hans created concept art and animations. Their work-ethic was only matched by their creativity. We could not have wished for better teammates. So, without further ado, I give them the floor to introduce themselves.

Jef

Jef Hi, I’m Jef, I'm an up-and-coming game designer from Belgium.

I’ve been an intern here at Edge of Dusk since August this year! Working mainly as a narrative and level designer for their upcoming title: Strom Peregrine, has been a super rewarding experience so far!

The studio has really allowed me to take a deep dive into my passion for storytelling and intricate level design, and I’m really happy with the results we have produced together.

In my final weeks at the studio, I’ll be shifting my focus to an exciting new project: Blue House. I’ll be delving into the narrative again, with the goal of making the experience Blue House wants to offer even more meaningful for players.

Collaborating with the talented and supportive team at Edge of Dusk has been a pleasure, and I look forward to applying everything I’ve learned to my master's program this year, where I hope to create a story-driven game of my own.

For those who are curious, a prototype of my story I Hate the Rain is available on my itch.io: https://casuallyjeffing.itch.io/, and I plan to update it soon with a full version!

Once again, thank you to Annemieke and Robert from Edge of Dusk for this incredible opportunity. I look forward to when our paths cross again after my internship.

Hans

Hans Hello there, my name is Hans! I'm currently a master student in animation at LUCA School of Arts, campus C-Mine. For the past three years I have indulged myself in 2D animation and concept art, with a special interest in horror and creatures.

Thanks to Edge of Dusk, I got the chance to learn as an intern about work within the game industry. I mainly worked on creating the visuals for the game. This went from brainstorming about characters and their environments to animating said characters.

I want to sincerely thank both Annemieke and Robert for this experience and allowing me to grow as an artist. It was a pleasure to be able to be part of the team and getting to know more about their upcoming game: Strom Peregrine.

If I sparked your interest, please feel free to check out my current project: Being (trans) HANS on my website: https://hansbonnez.wixsite.com/hansanimation

We, at Edge of Dusk, are very grateful to have had the pleasure to work with Jef and Hans. We will follow their carreers with great interest.

With that, the only thing left to do is to wish you all a very pleasant weekend.
